The first insulation to specialise in improving the acoustic conditioning of buildings, it has the best acoustic absorption index on the market, preventing echo and increased audible level and improving acoustic quality.
Like all insulations that work using absorption, it must be in contact with the sound source, and its use therefore varies from visible panels to its inclusion in recordable and/or perforated ceilings and even fabric-covered walls. It does not leave any kind of residue so, unlike mineral wool, it can work in direct contact with the sound source with no need for protective films.
It is particularly recommended for improving the acoustics of cinemas, auditoriums, conference rooms, discos, recording studios, bars, restaurants, function rooms, shopping centres, sports centres, offices, etc.
What’s more, Basotect by BASF has a thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/mK, so its use also hugely contributes to thermal insulation to a greater extent than even mineral wool.
