Expanded clay

Alternative lightening method to EPS

This is formed by natural clay which is high in iron and which, on burning, produces gasification and expands, creating micropores. These micropores make the clay much lighter and also give it other qualities, such as thermal insulation, when added to concrete and mortar mixtures.
It is also commonly used as a filler material in construction, or in gardening, as a filler material and decorative element for plant pots and gardens.
